Vegan Strawberry Body Scrub

Hello there!

Mother’s Day is a couple of days away and I don’t know about you but I always had a lot of trouble finding the perfect gift for my mother…And my creative soul always pushed me to making my own gifts.

Yeah…I love getting crafty. Sometimes it really works. Sometimes, it’s a big fail. Oh well…At least I try.
Anyways, this crafty little adventure though is anything but difficult. And it’s all about fresh ingredients that are just good. So good actually, that you can eat. Quite literally.

Vegan Body Scrub

Winter is almost knocking on our doors (sadly) and it’s that time of the year when our skin starts to suffer from the cold and dry weather. And me, being lazy me, always forget to moisturise my skin after every shower. So this little think here is simply PERFECTION.

It exfoliates the dry and old skin with some sugar then it nurtures the fresh skin with the great benefits from coconut oil.

And then you add strawberries to make it a super luscious and finger licking worthy scrub. And just because it makes it look so pretty too! Like, really…look at that! Gorgeous, right?

That’s why this is such an amazing idea for Mother’s Day or even Valentine’s next year…yeah, you are all sorted!

For this quick ‘treat’, I’ve used just a few ingredients. But apart from sugar (which is what gives the scrub-y effect) everything else is pretty good for you…and this is what goes in:

Strawberry:
Strawberries are my favourite fruit ever! It reminds me of my childhood days of eating a whole bowl by myself without being called selfish. Good times…
Anyways, strawberries are not only really delicious and fresh. They are an antioxidant powerhouse. It’s packed with vitamin C and manganese, this pretty little berry also hosts a whole bunch of other minerals such as: copper, potassium, biotin, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin B6, and omega-3 fatty acids. Phew…that’s a lot. Thanks to all these nutrients, strawberries are great to boost immunity, promote eye health, help fight cancer (due to its antioxidant properties) and they even help to keep wrinkles away! Hell yeah!

Coconut Oil:
Coconut and its products are finally getting the good reputation they long deserved. Coconut is known as the tree of life by many cultures in the South Pacific and it’s due to many reasons…such as the fact that they contain fatty acids which are extremely beneficial to our health. That kind of good fat that our body needs to function properly. One of the good fats it contains is ‘Laric Acid’ which helps breakdown harmful bacterias and other pathogens! PLUS: this amazing type of fats also help in hunger management, which in turn helps to lose weight! Thank goodness to coconut. We (heart) you!

Now, these are all the benefits we get from eating those things. BUT, did you know that coconut oil is also AH-MA-ZING for your skin? As I mention before, coconut oil acts as a great moisturiser and it also helps relieve sunburns and even to protect your hair from sun damage. It can’t hardly get any better that this…seriously.

Now add all this incredible features to an exfoliating scrub. You have a gold mine, right there! At least for your skin. Which will be vibrant, renewed and fresh after getting rid of all the old and tired cells and you will GLOW!

So, head down to your kitchen and make this stupidly easy scrub and pamper yourself. Or put it in a nice little glass jar, add a pretty ribbon and give it to mumma. Guaranteed she’ll love it!

Thanks for the great recipe. I do have a question. How long will this scrub stay good? I wonder since it has fresh strawberries in it. Thanks again!

Hi Nancy, glad you like it. This recipe doesn’t last long unfortunately. Due to its organic nature and they fact that strawberries go off quickly, you might only be able to keep it in the fridge for about 2 days. So fresh is always best 💝
