Yellow Split Pea Dahl

  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 cups of Yellow Split Pea
  • 5 cups of water (or vegetable stock)
  • 1 can of coconut cream
  • ½ tsp of turmeric, paprika, coriander powder, cumin seed powder, Keen's curry powder each
  • Salt to taste
  1. Chop garlic and onion and sauté on a deep high pot.
  2. Add the peas and all the spices and mix well.
  3. Top with stock or water. Let it simmer.
  4. Once the peas are soft but not overcooked, add the coconut cream and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and serve with rice and naan bread (optional).
