Very Berry Smoothie

Berry Smoothie

Hello everyone!

I know it’s been forever and I’m sorry. I’m currently working on a plan to organise myself (a lot) better on this and to make my posts more frequent. At the moment, I’m working (full-time), studying part-time, working on a side project (super exciting!!!) and trying to keep up with all of this seem to be a bit too much for me 🙁 but I don’t want to abandon my beautiful community of amazing souls who are looking for a better, healthier version of themselves. Yes, I’m talking about you 😉 So, pretty, pretty please, bear with me, ok?

Ok, this week was super busy but I finally got to go to a naturopath for the first time ever! It was really nice and we connected really quickly and I loved the whole process. I had a sample of my blood analysed which was really interesting.
I’ve been wanting to visit a naturopath for a long time, just to check how my health in general was going. But lately, I’ve been feeling extremely tired and I was having some really hard time to get out of bed. Something not very common for me, as I always have been a morning person. So, after a quick look at my blood, a we had a few conclusions…

I have a bit of iron deficiency (!!!!), which was really surprising to me, tbh, as every time I donated blood, I had good iron levels showing…and that’s kind of a vegetarian’s worst nightmare! :'(
I also found out I have a mild yeast infection…which sucks big time. And interestingly enough, is pretty common due to nature of our modern diet, which is packed with hidden sugars, mould and wheat (guilty of wheat and mould here)
And I got the confirmation I was suspicious of…I’m lactose intolerant. But that was kind of the good news, as I wanted to give up dairy aaaages ago and only had the goddamn cheese holding me back. HA! No more excuses know huh? 😉

So, the reason I’m sharing such personal information is because that leads to a pretty big change in my diet for the next couple of months…the type of change I was trying to avoid really.

But what does that diet mean? Most importantly, NO FRUITS! For a whoooole month! Oh dear, I have no idea how I’m gonna deal with this…but I’ll keep you updated on that one.

I researched quite a bit into a yeast-free diet and my naturopath gave me a guide to follow, together with a diet plan. But knowing myself as I do, I know I wouldn’t be making green papaya salads and quinoa porridges. Please, don’t judge me. I’ve tried every way but I just can’t do porridges, sorry! So, I’ve made my own diet plan and adapted it to my needs.
I’ll possibly be sharing this Yeast-Free Diet in the next couple of weeks as I’ll try and test the recipes and post some of them here too.

Anyways, I’m here to savour my last spoonfuls of sweet goodness that I won’t be able to have for the next month of so (please, cry with me for a bit)…
So, I made this really, super delicious smoothie bowl this week and I had to make it twice, because it was way too good not to.

And here I am sharing this super pumped smoothie which is packed full of vitamins and minerals, such as Vit A, B, C, manganese, antioxidants and lots more…Never enough vitamins and minerals, right?

I hope you enjoy the last weekend of summer to make this beauty here. Rest assure, that will be the best way to enjoy the last rays of summer 😉
